I went to Coronado and visited the Hotel Del Coronado. It is very famous: the film Some like it hot (with M.Monroe) was filmed there. The beach is fantastic, and the sand is so smooth and white. Well, it's not really pure San Diego sand. It comes from Florida instead. The San Diego sand is rather dark, so it was not considered beautiful. Indeed, Coronado is a very expensive place. If you want to have a house there, you'd better have a few million dollars on your bank account. Just imagine: you're on the beach and decide to swim in the Ocean. After that you're a little wet (and half frozen because the water is cold) so you decide to sit down on the beach and dry in the sun. When you get up, you're completely covered by this black sand... Not sexy at all... That's why they import sand from Florida (well that's what I was told).
Tomorrow, I'll leave San Diego for Los Angeles then Las Vegas and the National Parks. I'm not sure if I will have an internet connection everyday, so maybe I won't be able to post messages very often.
